KEY FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the ERSEA Coordinator, the Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist is responsible for maintaining, developing, and implementing systems for the recruitment and enrollment process of eligible children for PHS and EHS Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ERSEA SPECIALIST INCLUDE:
- Establish and maintain recruitment and enrollment of eligible children regardless of race, sex, creed, color, national origin, or disabling condition, by following performance standards.
- Interact positively with parents/guardians to ensure completion of application process.
- Distribute and log readily available PHS and EHS Enrollment Forms and copy documents to verify eligibility for enrollment.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system for use in documentation and family tracking.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor to maintain Federal Standard requirements for recruitment and enrollment.
- Create, update and deliver recruitment report to Supervisor weekly.
- Maintain/organize – alphabetize main family files.
- Every effort must be made and documented to include both parents and/or significant male/female role model to the child, in all aspects of Head Start (including, but not exclusion to home visits, parent involvement activities, meetings with teachers, etc.).
- Ensure that there is not duplicating of services between PHS, EHS and ECP.
- Other duties as assigned by ERSEA Coordinator.
- Be active in recruitment through booths, agency presentations, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with people.
- Working knowledge of computers/computer programs Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Must have excellent math skills.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge about and ability to interact with other agencies in the communities.
- Available for full time work with fixed hours.
- Hold a current driver’s license and have access to a dependable car.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
